Yet Another New Bag

I absolutely love to make bags. I have tons of different bag patterns and even a couple bag projects that I have fabric for but just need to make. I have made one of these bags before...I love this pattern and I absolutely love this fabric. It would be really fun in a quilt as well.

New Bag

I really wanted a new bag for church and thought it would be fun to make one instead of buying one. A friend of mine has a sister-in-law that is ubber talented and has a line of bags that she sells the patterns for, or the bags themselves if you don't sew. Her name is Tiffany and her site is tinyseamstress.blogspot.com. I bought this pattern... "Little Miss Business" and got fabric and went to work. I like buying funky, bold fabric for bags...not sure why. I really liked how it turned out. The only thing with this bag is if I made another one I would make the handles a little longer. But other than that a really easy bag to make.

Finally Finished

I am really amazed that it has been such a long time since I have put anything on this blog and also our family blog. And I am also amazed at how long it actually took me to finish this quilt. This is the quilt that I previous blogged about that I made out of a jelly roll and layer cake. The pattern was so fun and easy to do. It is kind of a crazy quilt but I love it.

Emma's New Quilt

I am finally getting pictures up of Emma's new quilt. The quilt has been done for a while, but I just needed to finish the pillow case. I had extra fabric so decided to make a pillow as well. The quilt is a Turning 20 pattern. I love it! I was running way behind in getting the quilt done for Emma's birthday when my friend saved the day and said she would long arm it for me. I was so excited...for one reason that it would be done on time and for another it would be super cute. And it definitely turned out super cute! I still have a few more things that I want to do to Emma's room to make it complete. She is so happy to have pink walls and loves her quilt.

Super cute quilting.

My friend even quilted Emma's name into the quilt with the year....genius!

I have had these letters forever and am now getting around to doing something with them. I had extra fabric from the quilt and decided to use that on the letters and then wrapped ribbon around the edges. Then I painted these flowers and yet more fabric for the centers.

Accomplishment

I bought this pattern a while ago and of course the fabric and have had it laying out in my craft room for ages just waiting to be sewn. I don't know why I never just finished it. Guess it was a little more complex than the other bag that I did. I got another bag pattern from a friend and have really been wanting to make it. I thought I better finish this bag before I got busy on another. I think I am the queen of UFO's. Anyway...This bag is definitely not perfect but it's done and I'm happy with it...for the most part.

Block of the Month

A local quilt store (where I took my quilt class) does a block of the month raffle. My talented friend took over the block of the month the beginning of this year. She finds the block then has to come up with the directions for everyone that wants in on the raffle. I am her tester. She gives me the directions and I have to make the block to make sure the directions make sense. It has been fun making different quilt blocks and getting the patterns. This months block was so fun to make and so cute... I just had to share.

Fun Baby Blanket

Lately I have abandoned my quilting and have been trying to get back into scrapbooking. My cute little guy, who is now six, has been wondering when his scrapbook would be getting done (I am six years behind). I have a friend that scrapbooks and has been wanting to get together and scrapbook. So she has finally gotten me to get back into it. But this has me not quilting. I should really learn how to multitask better! Anyway...another friend had a baby back in October and I finally got around to making her baby girl a blanket. It turned out really cute! I wish I could say that I cut all the squares out and pieced it myself, but sadly I didn't. I found this fabric already pieced at Joanns...isn't it cute! I backed it with flannel so it would be nice and soft and then I tied it with embroidery floss. My friend loved it and that makes me happy. Being in front of my machine making this blanket has made me realize how much I have missed sewing. So now I really need to plan things out and organize my time so I can sew AND scrapbook and then somewhere in between get back into making cards. :)
